House Cleaning in Lowell, Priced After a Walkthrough

Regular house cleaning across the Merrimack Valley and Greater Boston, where the routes run weekly. One free walkthrough, one price for the visit, a written room by room scope, and the same crew at your door.

A house in this part of Massachusetts gets dirty on a schedule you can set a calendar by. From the first treatment in November until the last one in April, road salt and sand come through the front door on every pair of boots. Salt does not vacuum away. It dissolves, wicks into the finish on a hardwood floor, and dries back as a white haze along the hall and in front of the door, which is why wiping it with plain water makes it look worse an hour later. It needs a neutral cleaner and a barely damp pad, worked in the direction of the boards. Then there is the heat. Radiators and baseboard convectors pull dust up the wall behind them all winter and leave a gray shadow on the paint that nobody sees until spring light hits it.

Pricing starts with the walkthrough. Somebody comes out, counts the bathrooms, looks at what the floors actually are under the rug, opens the back hall where the boots live, and asks which rooms you want touched and which ones you would rather we left alone. That takes about half an hour in most homes and it costs you nothing. You get one number for the visit and a written scope that lists the work room by room, so nobody is arguing later about whether the baseboards were in the price. The crew that walked the house is the crew that cleans it, and every cloth, mop, vacuum and product arrives on our cart.

What the visit covers

  • Lift the winter salt haze off hardwood with a neutral damp method
  • Vacuum and hand wipe behind radiators and baseboard convectors
  • Scrub tub, tile and grout, then dry the fixtures so they stay clear
  • Disinfect toilets top to bottom, including the base and the bolt caps
  • Wipe cabinet fronts, handles and the grease line above the range
  • Clean the sink, the faucet and the drain, then polish the metal dry
  • Damp mop tile and vinyl and vacuum carpet and runners to the edges
  • Hand wipe the wide baseboards, door casings and every switch plate
  • Dust ceiling fixtures, blinds, sills and each reachable ledge
  • Wipe the storm door glass and the entry floor on both sides

What the crew brings through the door

Everything arrives on our cart. Vacuums, mops, cloths, and the products, including the neutral floor cleaner that old wood in these houses needs and the degreaser the kitchen does not get from a spray bottle. You are never asked to leave anything out under the sink. The cart is split by area, so the cloths and the mop head that clean a bathroom never move to a kitchen counter or a dining table. Every zone of the house gets its own kit, and the crew learns that split before they ever work an address on their own.

Scheduling runs Monday to Saturday, eight to six. Most homes take one visit to settle in. On the first clean the crew works straight through the written list, and after that they know which floor in the back hall cannot take water, which door sticks in humidity, and which corner you look at first when you walk in. If your list changes, say so at the door and we edit the scope in writing before the next visit rather than adding it to the bill. And because painting and masonry run out of the same company, a wall that needs more than cleaning gets flagged instead of ignored.

FAQ

About house cleaning

If your question is not here, call and ask. We would rather tell you a smaller job is enough than sell you a bigger one.

How do you price a house cleaning?

With a walkthrough first. We come to the house, count the bathrooms, look at the floors and the entry, and ask which rooms matter most to you. That visit is free and takes about half an hour. You get one price for the cleaning and a written scope that lists the work room by room. The number holds for that scope, so nothing new appears on the invoice after the crew leaves.

Can you clean old hardwood without wrecking it?

Yes, and it is most of the housing stock here. Old boards in a Lowell two family or a Victorian off Andover Street will not take a wet mop, and the winter salt sitting in the finish makes it worse because water alone spreads it. We use a neutral cleaner on a barely damp pad, work with the grain, and dry as we go. If a floor has lost its finish and needs more than cleaning, we say so rather than pretending a mop will fix it.

Do I need to buy supplies or leave anything out?

No. The crew brings vacuums, mops, cloths and every product. Nothing gets borrowed from under your sink. If you want a specific product used on a particular surface, hand it over at the door and tell us where it goes. Everything else on the cart is ours, split by area so bathroom cloths stay on bathroom duty.
